#1 Thing You MUST Do During a Crisis

Disclaimer: I am writing this during the Coronavirus crisis. You may be reading it much later, during a very different crisis – personal, professional or even international. The principles will apply

Let's face it.  These are tough times for almost everyone.

Someone you love may already have been affected by this virus.  Or you may be struggling with fear of what might happen

Meanwhile, the media is bombarding us with bad news. But here's what I've found through 40 years of ministry on six continents  – often to some of the most dangerous places on earth.

Tough times can either make you or break you.

A Crisis Made Her STRONGER

I always thought the Proverbs 31 woman was a mythological creature.

But then I met her in person – living in the mountains of violence-torn Colombia.

  • Her husband had been kidnapped.
  • Her bank was account wiped out trying to rescue him.
  • He was also her business partner – she was left alone to run their stores.
  • The father of her four children was gone forever.

But through the toughest of times, she found strength in God's Word.  And came through the fire stronger than ever.

Surviving a crisis

Meeting Beatrice inspired me to pursue a deeper study of Proverbs 31.

In fact, she is the inspiration for — and the opening story in — my #1 international best-selling book, Becoming the Woman God Wants Me To Be

You can read the rest of her story in the book.  It's incredible!

Is It Time For YOU To Get Stronger?

But right now, I want to talk about YOU. And what you are going through. Look, I can't cure the coronavirus.  I can't end this lockdown.  I don't know how to do either of those things. But here's what I do know:

FOCUS IS POWERFUL.

You get to choose what you want to focus on!

  •  You can focus on everything that is out of your control.
  •  Or you can focus on those things that are 100% within your control.

Right now.  Take a moment and reflect.

Which one have you been focusing on?  What you CAN do…or what you CAN'T do?

What if we all turned off the bad news for an hour and instead, focused our attention on the Good News of God's Word?

Here's Something You CAN Do In A Crisis

So this morning I woke up and decided to issue an invitation.   This might be for you. Maybe not.  But at least, I wanted to throw it out there as an idea.

Why not take a deep dive into Proverbs 31?

Several years ago, I created a 90-Day Class based on my Proverbs 31 book.

Full disclosure: The daily videos aren't glitzy, high-tech, super amazing.  It's just me.  Sitting in my living room.  Sharing my life journey with you.  Heart to heart, friend to friend.

There's also an audio teaching each week that gives you something to FOCUS ON.

And honestly, I think that might be exactly what the Great Physician has ordered for all of us.

If you think this might help you, click the button below to learn more about the class.  It's called The 90-Day Jumpstart to a New You

But whether or not you register for the class, please find something positive to turn your attention towards.  And take a break from all the bad news. That is, for sure, the #1 thing you MUST do to make it through a crisis stronger than when it started.

Love & Prayers,
Donna

P.S. You might also be interested in gathering a group of women to study the book. I've created a Leader's Guide for Becoming the Woman God Wants Me To Be.
